The Portrait

Ines has been photographed hundreds of times and never once seen. She writes Reid three emails before she can explain what she wants, and the last one says only: sorry, that probably doesn't make sense.

In the studio she stops posing and asks for something no photographer has given her: to be watched, completely, while he holds her breath. Not captured. Witnessed.

Reid has spent eleven years learning to see people through a lens. This time there's no lens.

A story about finally being seen.

Story 06 of The Breathplay Collection. Each story stands alone.
